WRITING
I have written technical and commerical reports for a range of audences (Executive boards, CTOs, commercial teams and end users), academic theses and dissertations; and published articles in peer-reviewed journals and trade magazines. Totalling over 2000+ pages (or 300,000 words!). I have:
• Authored and contributed to the development of over 50 Standard Operating Procedures for NHS Trusts and University R&D laboratories, including best pratice guides and health and safety bulletins.
• Carried out approximately 30 risk assessments involving risks of
a chemical, biological, electro-mechanical nature, high voltages, lasers,
robotic manipulator arms, medical devices, and electrical patient nerve
and muscle stimulators, for example:

• Designed approximately 60 research study participant informations
sheets, recruitment flyers (eg.

study questionnaires, data recording sheets and consent forms (eg. )
; setup document control systems (eg.
) and written successful ethics applications.
• Reviewed hundreds of ethics applications during my role as Member of the European Institute of Health's Research Ethics Committee at the University of Surrey, and as elected Member of the University of Surrey Research Ethics Committee.
• Led ethical audits of research undertaken under the University of Surrey Research Ethics framework.
• Adhered to BS(EU)ISO quality standards throughout my career, from BS5750 to 606061 and 62354, under quality frameworks such as the Medical Device Directive and Total Quality Management (TQM).
• Contributed to the development of ISO 13482:2014 "Robots and robotic devices - safety requirements of Personal Care Robots".
• Proofread hundreds of documents (including technical and commerical reports, undergraduate and postgraduate work, user guides and manuals, SOPs, information sheets, risk assessments, consent forms, ethics applications and so on).
• Given BBC press interviews about robotics work and my research into electro-tactile biofeedback.
• Designed, produced and appeared in promotional material for research
departments, for example: 
• I setup the Clinical Engineering JISCMail forum in 2006 as a place
to foster collaboration among clinical engineers in the UK (ClinicalEngineering@JISCMail.ac.uk)
